Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 23 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Glenmorangie distillery is located in the beautiful Scottish Highlands and is famous for its outstanding single malt whiskies. Glenmorangie, derived from the Gaelic language of Scotland, translates to "Valley of Tranquillity." A true testament to craftsmanship and tradition, Glenmorangie has been captivating whisky enthusiasts around the world for centuries. The story of Glenmorangie begins with its founder, William Matheson, who established the distillery in 1843. Situated near the tranquil Dornoch Firth, the distillery benefits from the region's pristine water source and the gentle sea breezes that caress the aging casks. These natural elements play a vital role in shaping the character of Glenmorangie whiskies, adding a touch of Highland magic to every bottle. One of the hallmarks of Glenmorangie is its commitment to the art of cask maturation. The distillery boasts the tallest copper pot stills in Scotland, which allow for a purer and more refined spirit. This, combined with the use of the finest American white oak barrels, results in whiskies that are smooth, complex and full of character. Glenmorangie takes pride in its dedication to innovation constantly pushing the boundaries of whisky production. The distillery is known for its "Extra Matured" range, where whiskies are finished in a variety of cask types, such as sherry, port and wine, to create unique flavour profiles. This experimentation has garnered Glenmorangie a loyal following of whisky connoisseurs who appreciate the diversity and complexity of their offerings. One of Glenmorangie's most iconic expressions is the Glenmorangie Original, a flagship whisky that embodies the essence of the distillery. For those seeking a more indulgent experience, Glenmorangie offers a range of limited edition releases and prestigious expressions. From the award-winning Glenmorangie Signet, with its rich chocolate and coffee flavors, to the rare Glenmorangie Pride 1978, aged for 41 years and exuding elegance and opulence, these whiskies are a testament to the distillery's unwavering commitment to excellence. Beyond crafting exceptional whiskies, Glenmorangie is deeply rooted in its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. The distillery is dedicated to minimizing its carbon footprint and protecting the natural resources that make their whiskies so special. From the use of renewable energy sources to the restoration of local wetlands, Glenmorangie strives to ensure that future generations can continue to enjoy their whiskies while preserving the beauty of the Scottish Highlands. Selecting American white oak from their very own forests in Missouri’s Ozark Mountains, and then seasoning it in the very best bourbon the industry has to offer, Glenmorangie use these first fill casks with some of their most impressive whisky from Bond House No.1 and deliver it in a spectacular wooden-copper presentation box and stunning decanter bottle. Master Distiller Dr Bill Lumsden has created a whisky that is fresh, floral and creamy. Lots of pretty flowers and bright fruits on the nose, and a complex palate with oranges, vanilla and fudge and remarkably ginger, chilli & pear on the finish. The 1995 Grand Vintage release is the fifth instalment in the collection. This expression is zesty and vibrant. Aged for 23 years, this Whisky was distilled the year that Dr Bill Lumsden (the Cask Master) first joined Glenmorangie. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks and Oloroso Sherry casks then finally finished for more than a decade in prestigious Margaux red wine casks. The colour deep auburn undertones, the nose is full-bodied and rich, with hints of creamy popcorn and toffee apples, with nutmeg and toasted bread adding layers, followed by cinnamon and cloves with hints of chocolate. The addition of a few drops of water brings out the characteristic citrus and vanilla of Granger, and brings out the honey and toasted fruit, covered with more milk chocolate. On the palate, the spicey texture provides a cooling effect, kicking off with notes of cloves and toffee apples, bringing out notes of cocoa, mint and lemon sorbet. Citrus aromas linger in the throat, vibrant and sweet, before fading into aromas of cranberry and pear soufflé with hints of oak.

Benriach 30 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

In 1898, John Duff built the Speyside Distillery, BenRiach. It is one of the few distilleries with its own on-site floor malting and draws its water from the Burnside Springs. A richly sumptuous single malt, interwoven with mellow smoke and a masterful curation of oak. Crafted from a combination of unpeated and peated spirit and four cask matured for at least twenty five years in sherry casks, bourbon barrels, virgin oak casks and Madeira Island wine casks. During long maturation Benriach’s sweet Speyside smoke mellows and integrates with the fruit, malt and oak. After twenty-five years, rich layering develops into caramelised smoke, further enhanced through multi-layered cask maturation. The whisky from each cask type, imbued with particular flavour characteristics, is then expertly married together to create a sumptuous single malt, layered with baked fruit, honey malt and toasted oak spice with a long, rich, caramelised smoke finish. All in perfect balance.

Lagavulin Distillers Edition Double Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky ( Bottling)

This bottle of Lagavulin is apart of Diageo's 2022 Distillers Edition. There are seven distinctive Distillers Edition expressions (including Lagavulin, Oban, Talisker, Caol Ila, Dalwhinnie, and more), the remarkable and complex Distillers Edition process, and the people who make it. The mighty Lagavulin, in which the finishing imparts sweetness and texture, plus a spiciness that binds the smoky whole and makes this a whisky apart. This one sounds particularly great as Lagavulin from Islay has a great affinity with sherry so anything that turns up the sherry volume is ok by us especially if there’s some extra char involved. Second maturation takes place in Pedro Ximenz-seasoned re-charred American Oak with heavily re-charred ends. On the nose large helpings of peat are joined by dried fruit, raisins and some vanilla sweetness. the palate is of coastal smoke, with some salted toffee and more sherry character. On the finish oaky spices linger, along with lingering peat of course.

Glenfiddich 40 Year Old 'Cumulative Time' Single Malt Scotch Whisky Release No.19

The Glenfiddich Distillery was founded in 1886 by William Grant in Dufftown in the Speyside region of Scotland. The name Glenfiddich derives from the Scottish Gaelic Gleann Fhiodhaich meaning "valley of the deer". Once the spirit has matured, the whisky is cut with pure Robbie Dhu spring water. Glenfiddich has a bottling hall onsite along with a large bottling plant in Bellshill. It is visible in a rocky valley’s many solid strata; laid down over millennia, worn smooth by wind and rain. And with layers comes complexity. Which is why Glenfiddich 40 is so much more than an exemplary single malt. This rare single malt is made through remnant vatting, a pioneering process in which the Glenfiddich malt master carries one batch over, time and again, and marries it with the casks selected for each subsequent release. Cask after cask, season after season, it absorbs the evolving flavours of the passing years. It is time, age, experience accumulated. It’s a unique process that isn’t commonly used. In fact, Glenfiddich is the only distillery that still makes use of the remnant vatting process, which is a testament to the label’s traditional approach to distillation. Since the first release of Glenfiddich 40 Year Old in 2000, its special marrying tun has never been emptied, with some of the previous batch saved to provide the backbone of each new release. This year, Brian Kinsman added two butts and five hogsheads of whisky to the mix, creating a rich and sherry-led expression, weightier than previous editions. The sculptural packaging design is inspired by geological metamorphosis and made from jesmonite (a resin-based material used for sculpture and decoration), which is streaked with both upcycled copper, which represents Glenfiddich’s stills, and green glass, which nods to the ever-popular Glenfiddich 12 Year Old, giving a stone-like appearance. Luxuriously full and silky smooth, with memories of past releases in every nuanced note. Evolving from deep dried fruit notes to rich fruitcake, dates, raisins and stewed apples, with sweet cooking spices and vanilla, before giving way to dry oaky notes, with subtle hints of bitter chocolate and peat. The finish is complex, memorable and exquisitely long-lasting.
