Lovely bright expression of old-vine Hunter Valley Chardonnay. Whole bunch pressed, taking only free run and light solids into concrete and large format French oak. Cirtus, cashews and creaminess from partial malolactic fermentation. Margan's white wines are some of the Hunter's best and their Chardonnay is right up there.

A bright light emerging from the Hunter, Boydell's are kicking some goals already. The wines are made by the talented Liz Silkman, from quality fruit.Bright mid lemon colour. Named Oakdale after the original Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard name, The Oakdale Chardonnay is only produced from the most exceptional parcels of grapes, found in our 40 year old Oakdale Chardonnay block. These grapes were harvested during the second week in February from the Oakdale Chardonnay block. The grapes were pressed, cold settled and racked to French oak barriques for fermentation with 50% new oak and left to mature for 8 months. The wine was racked and lightly fined with skim milk, filtered and bottled.

2021 marks the 50th Vintage release of Winemaker's Selection Vat 47 Chardonnay, it still remains an Australian benchmark Chardonnay.
