Our 2021 McLaren Vale GSM is a beautiful example of this classic Southern Rhone blend. A tremendous array of aromas and flavours are on offer– raspberry, plum, blackberry and spicy notes abound, all wrapped up in a beautifully textured palate. It combines the sweet raspberry fruit of the Grenache, rich dark fruits of the Shiraz and the savoury spice of Mourvèdre in perfect harmony. The finish is long, generous and satisfying. Not too heavy, not too light, this GSM is in perfect balance.

Dark, fragrant aromas of blood plum, blackcurrant and anise will draw you in to this contemporary expression of Coonawarra cabernet. It's a complex and thought-provoking wine, medium-bodied with layers of cassis, dark chocolate and toasty French oak. The savoury tannins provide a good line and length and there's a great persistence and depth of flavour, with the vibrancy of the fruit giving the wine real energy and lift. It bursts with bright red-currant and cherry fruit, cinnamon, cloves, cracked pepper and drying violets with a savory earthy undertone. The palate is plush but neatly packaged with savory, focused tannins and crunchy berry fruit. The spicy French oak does show on both the nose and the palate but it adds rather than detracts. Drink this young and slightly chilled as a light alternative to charred barbecue fare.
