Hungerford Hill Tumbarumba Pinot Meunier
A true rarity – Pinot Meunier, known as a constituent of some Champagnes, adding richness and body – is very rarely vinified on its own anywhere in the world. As winemaker Bryan Currie shows, it can be done, and very well. “Light in colour but it has its kicking boots on. Cranberry, red cherry, meaty spice and wood smoke flavours combine beautifully. It kicks quality goals from start to finish; tannin, acid and texture are all in good form too... 93 points” (Halliday).
Château La Clarière
Champagne Brigitte Delmotte
Over 170 years of experience have assisted in the making of this creamy, berry rich Champagne. It's the work of 5th generation winemaker Julian Fourrier, whose father, Philippe, created this special cuvée in honour of his wife, Brigitte. Her maiden name was Delmotte. The grapes are 100% Pinot Noir taken from vineyards first planted by Philippe and Brigitte – that's romance for you. All the family's 18 hectares of vines lie within Champagne's little known, southerly region, La Côte des Bars. The wine for this fine fizz was gently fermented and aged three years on its lees (twice as long as legally required) to enhance the rich toasty notes of the fizz. Chill down and serve at your next celebration. Or don't wait for an excuse and enjoy!

Domaine Bertagna Bourgogne Blanc Les Croix Blanches
Founded in 1950 by Monsieur Bertagna, this fine domaine has gained an envious reputation. It lies in Vougeot and boasts 17 hectares of vines across a myriad of appellations, making 18 different wines, including eight Premiers Crus and six Grands Crus. In 1982, it was sold to Joseph Reh, whose family have been making wine in Germany's Rheinhessen for seven generations. Joseph had long had a love of Burgundy, buying them for his customers in Germany. He finally succumbed to his passion and bought this lovely property. His grand daughter, Eva, is now in charge. She has brought in organic practices and a gentle hand in the winemaking. Handpicked grapes, fermentation and part ageing in French oak lend the wine richness and finesse. A fine white.
