Pierro LTC Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

Located in the heart of Western Australia’s renowned Margaret River wine region, the Pierro locality, owned and managed by Dr Mike Peterkin, has a viticultural pedigree second to none. Besides making award-winning Chardonnay of distinctive character, Mike also produced the first Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blend in Australia. The Pierro reds are now among the very best in the region. Each parcel is hand-picked, chilled, hand-sorted and whole bunch pressed. There are multiple picks for this wine. With the first batches being picked for aromatic complexity and acidity, and the latter being picked for flavour and texture. Each batch is kept separate and inoculated with different yeasts depending on the variety and date picked. During this time a quarter of the wine is fermented in French oak barriques for 2-3 months for mouthfeel and texture. These different elements combine as a whole to provide an incredible amount of complexity to the final wine. The separate batches are then combined and left on fermentation lees for 3-4 months prior to bottling. A light dry wine, delicious when young but has the capacity and backbone to mature and develop in the bottle. Flavours of citrus, pear, green apple, melon and tropical fruit. Fresh, crisp and dry with both complexity and elegance. An ideal accompaniment to seafood and white meat dishes.

Cantina della Stazione Langhe Favorita

Adelaide-born Dave Fletcher is a self confessed Nebbiolo addict. So much so that shortly after falling in love with Nebbiolo in 2006, Dave moved to Piedmonte in 2007 to explore his passion for Nebbiolo, and has since produced an outstanding range that is both characteristic of the Piedmont region and innovative in itself. Time spent making wine and absorbing local knowledge at Ceretto have only served to deepen his love of the region and it’s great wines. Now the proud owner of, and making wine in the old train station in Barbaresco, Dave’s passion has reached its pinnacle, and the wines show it! Produced in very small quantities, we are very excited to have a small allocation this year. Old vine Favorita from Dave Fletcher's new project Cantina della Stazione. This distinctive white wine is full of elegance and finesse, perfect to accompany light dishes or an aperitif. The grapes are from 60-year-old vines in the Bricco Capre vineyard in San Rocco, Alba. The harvest took place in 2 rounds. The first grapes were harvested specifically to preserve freshness and acidity. In the second run, the focus was on the fruit intensity. This approach has created a wine that is on one hand very fresh, and on the other hand perfectly ripe. Fermented with natural local yeasts, whole bunch pressed to seasoned Burgundy barriques for 8 months on fine lees, bottle unfined and unfiltered. On the nose you will find aromatic white flowers and subtle citrus notes surrounded by a hint of flint. Notes of creamy lees, white peach and nectarine shine on the palate, an absolutely fascinating wine, a delight to taste and utterly absorbing to drink. Salty, and electric, with a silky glide. The fruit is incredibly intense, bright and tangy. Ripe, but mouth-watering.
