Deviation Road Winery produces exciting cool climate wines and this one is a stunner. Partial barrel fermentation has added texture and depth to the sweet floral and pear characters. Silky body, mouth-filling and balanced.

All the hallmarks of classic cool climate Pinto Gris, but blessed with the nuances of fruit character, brought out by the Aussie sun, and lightly oaked.

Peregrine's Pinot Gris serves up some interest that goes beyond New Zealand's most famous white variety. Instead of kiwifruit and gooseberries, savour Pinot Gris' poached pears and red apples. There's some crisp acidity hiding in the back that keeps the palate fresh, with some mealy texture providing a nice mouthfeel.

This is definitely Gris, not Grigio with baked quinces, crisp apple and interesting notes of clove spice. Partial barrel ferment helps this wine dial up texture and palate weight. An enticing alternative to Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

AMELIE & CHARLES SPARR Sensation Pinot Gris, Wettolsheim 2018 Grown on granitic and limestone soils, this is a firm, yet approachable Pinot Gris with wonderful complexity and depth. Grown according to the Ecocert certification, the palate is awash with flavours of peach and toasted bread. Well rounded and harmonious, you could cellar it for up to 8 years, but its making a pretty convincing argument to enjoy its considerable charms right now.

Quartz Reef Pinot Gris exhibits flavours of ripe pear, peach and marzipan with a rich texture and an off-dry mineral finish. Colour is lemon gold. Aroma is nutmeg, honey, ginger and white peach. The palate is rich and textural with a delicious fine acidity. Cellaring is 3-5 years.
