20 to 30% of which from specially selected reserve wines to enhance its intensity, subtlety and constancy. Intensity & roundness: the juicy and persistent intensity of red fruits: strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant. The fleshiness and firmness of peach. The freshness of a subtle menthol note.

Pol Roger Brut Rose Vintage

Jo Landron Brut Atmospheres Non-Vintage Non-Vintage

This Loire bubbles has been enjoying plenty of love among those who know the wine, and no wonder. It's a hand-harvested, Estate-grown, biodynamic, naturally fermented, low-dosage fizz that shows up many conventional Champagnes for both quality and value. Topping off an impressive package is the marvellous label designed by legendary French illustrator, Michel Tolmer (of Mimi, Fifi and Glouglou fame). Jo Landron is not a fan of using Muscadet's Melon de Bourgogne for sparkling wine, preferring instead a blend of around 75% Folle Blanche (grown on sandy clay), with a balance of Pinot Noir (grown on gravelly soils). Vine age varies between 18 and 30 years. The yields are typically between 50 and 60 hl/ha--far lower than the average yields in Champagne. The base wines are fermented naturally and then go through a traditional second fermentation in bottle, where they remain for a minimum of 24 months. The dosage is a low five grams per litre. On top of all this, the fruit for this cuvée is from a single vintage (2018 in this case). This list of attributes sounds like the winegrowing and making approach of a top grower in Champagne, not a humble Muscadet producer! It's no surprise then that the result is a wine of impressive depth and complexity. Expect a super-mineral, earthy, rocky wine with waves of racy citrus and fresh nectarine fruit and lots of flinty, talc-like, salty complexity, then a delicious lick of smoky Pinot breadiness to close. This is simply one of the finest sparkling bargains going around.

Champagne Taittinger Brut Millésimé

AROMA: A vivacious, fresh nose offers aromas of hawthorn, grapefruit and pear. PALATE: The palate is crisp and wonderfully precise. Marked by citrus fruit, it offers an excellent balance of structure and finesse. The complex finish is elegant and long.

Chandon Etoile V1

Étoile sits at the pinnacle of CHANDON: an ambitious passion project to capture the heights of greatness in Australian sparkling wine. Created from our library of remarkable CHANDON Vintage Brut, Étoile represents hundreds of base wines from 8 different vintages, rounded out with extended ageing. An Australian sparkling Cuvée of unrivalled quality, with Étoile we shoot for the stars. With its pale straw hue and delicate, yet persistent mousse, this sparkling wine is truly exceptional from the very first glance. On the nose it tantalises with aromas of Asian pear, white peach and finger lime with an undercurrent of macadamia butter and hints of apple blossom. The palate reveals waves of yuzu, bergamot and white peach floating on pistachio nougat with whispers of pastry and allspice. Characters burst with radiance integrate seamlessly. There’s tightly wound acidity and a surprising level of brightness and vibrancy. Autolytic notes from the wine’s extended age are smooth and subtle, gingernutty. Overall, there is a sense of plenty, embraced with mesmerising restraint. Completeness and harmony.

Champagne J.Vignier Ora Alba Grands Crus Blanc de Blancs Non-Vintage

Fresh on the nose, with flavors of apples and lemon, as well as hints of peaches. Tasty and smooth, this wine has a real texture, due to its fine bubbles and mineral acidity, as typical for the wines from the Côte des Blancs. On the palate, it evolves towards brioche-like, buttery and toasty flavors, with a touch of thyme and grapefruit on the final.

Veuve Ambal Cremant de Bourgogne Blanc Non-Vintage

APPEARANCE: Pale yellow gold in colour the Veuve Ambal Cremant de Bourgogne shows an exceptionally fine, persistent mousse. AROMA: The fruity bouquet shows enticing citrusy notes, with a hint of red fruits and some biscuity complexity. PALATE: The palate is elegant and harmonious, the finish long, crisp and dry.
