Today, the Bin 28 is a great example of the Penfolds dedication to multi-region, multi-vineyard blending. Paringa Estate Peninsula Shiraz Mornington Peninsula The Paringa wines in the Peninsula range are an haut Mornington Peninsulathe emphasis being on the liveliness of the fruit. 'The quality of these wines are often equal to many other vineyards best'- James Halliday This is a classic cool-climate Shiraz. The fruit is sourced from three sites around the Peninsula which has the spice and black pepper characters, that are characteristic of this wine. Very deep dark red black colour with a dark to brick red hue. Very herby and smoky the nose has dried herb scents overlaying some meatiness, red liquorice, smoky earth and bell pepper notes. Supple and mid weighted the palate features spicy plum and red liquorice flavours infused with dried clove which are followed by some smoky earth, black olive and bell pepper characters. The Shadowfax Pyrenees Shiraz 2018 is a bold wine that boasts a dark red to black color with a ruby hue. The aroma showcases white pepper spice, dark plums and fig fruit with hints of cinnamon spice. On the palate, satsuma plums and blackcurrant fruits explode onto the front palate, with pepper spices and cinnamon adding further intrigue. The fine but firm tannins build through the palate, leading to a crescendo of flavors that resonate with the drinker long after the wine has left one's lips. This is a full-bodied wine with great length and depth, making it an excellent choice for those who enjoy a bold and complex Shiraz. This wine pairs well with roast duck, Schezuan chicken and rump steak. The carefully hand-harvested fruit was picked in the cool of the morning to retain vibrancy. The fruit was destemmed into small open fermenters, where wild yeast performed their magic. The wine was then pressed and left to rest in 20% new French barrels, allowing it to develop its full flavor profile and complexity.

This blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Viognier is a relatively recent addition to Henschke's impressive range. Typically fragrant plum and raspberry aromas, followed by a velvety palate with rich fruit flavours and well intergraded tannins. Henry's Seven will not disappoint.
