Emanating from the glass are spicy red currant and dark cherry scents which are complimented by earth, dried herb and leathery tobacco like notes. Rich and intensely concentrated with plenty of volume in the mouth, red to black currant, subtle liquorice and dark cherry fruits engulf the palate. Earthy tobacco, dried herb and spicy cedar characters ensue. Excellent drive with fresh acidity and a sturdy yet well integrated tannin structure lending a subtle chewy feel to the long expressive aftertaste. Drink over the next 5-6 years. Alc. 14.5%

Poggio Scudieri Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

Ruby red color with hints of garnet. On the nose, it has the fragrance of spices, small red fruits, berries, and underbrush. Juniper, humus, light nuances of flowers, and hints of licorice and black pepper. On the palate, it is crisp and fresh, medium-bodied, with good acidity and well-integrated tannins. It closes with balsamic and spicy notes.

Villa Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG

Villa Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva is ruby red in colour. The nose shows intensely fruity notes of ripe cherries, red currants, and wild berry fruit along with well integrated notes of toasted oak and tobacco, and a touch of balsamic sensations. The palate is ample and enveloping, savory, soft in its tannins and velvety in texture. The finish and aftertaste are long and persistent. Antinori is a name synonymous with wine in Italy, the equivalent of the royal family of wine in the country. Intimately involved in the wine industry of Italy since 1385, initially in Tuscany, but in more recent years their influence has grown seeing them involved in wine-making projects across the country. They were instrumental in the renaissance of Chianti and their portfolio of wines includes some stellar names such as Tignanello - the Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc blend that was most influential in the Super Tuscan movement, Solaia - the Cabernet dominant blend also from the Tignanello Estate and the beautiful Peppoli Chianti Classico.

Frescobaldi Riserva Chianti Rufina DOCG Montesodi

The Montesodi vineyard is located 400 metres above sea level, planted in schist soils with a magnificent southwestern exposure. The 2019 Montesodi is a vibrant ruby-red colour. It is tantalising on the nose, characterised by fruity notes of redcurrant and wild strawberry. These aromas are followed by floral notes, fresh balsamic scents, and an elegant spiciness of liquorice and cloves. It displays fresh yet dense and chalky tannins, typical of Sangiovese, balancing complexity with elegance and length.

La Torre Macchione IGT Rosso Toscano

A super Tuscan. Deep ruby ​​red with violet reflections. Intense on the nose, with hints of dark pulp fruit, such as blackberry and plum, which blend harmoniously with the spicy tones of pepper and tobacco. The mouth is clean, soft and enveloping, with well-present but never annoying tannins. Excellent persistence. Perfect with meat or mushroom-based pasta or rice dishes.

Brancaia Chianti Classico Riserva

Podere La Brancaia is one of Tuscanys leading wine estates, each year winning national and international awards. The winery is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico zone at Poppi, in Radda in Chianti, and draws on its own fruit from Poppi and La Brancaia in Castellina. A selection of their best Sangiovese, with 20% Merlot, matured in barriques (half new) for 16 months, followed by 6 months in the bottle. Loaded with ripe fruits of dark cherry and plum, the Merlot gives the wine mid-palate depth and richness to make this a great wine for drinking now or cellaring over the short term.
