Bodegas Caro Amancaya Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon

The robe is deep red in colour with purple hints. The nose is complex with notes of red fruits, figs and blueberries, with hints of finely roasted coffee. Spices and dried fruit are also perceived evoking the barrel ageing. On the palate the wine is dense and complex with fine tannins and refreshing acidity, showing good balance. The persistent finesse of the tannins confers a good length and a pleasant, smooth mouthfeel.

Jim Barry The Forger Malbec

Electric dark purple in the glass. Aromas of cherry, violet and sage explode from the glass. Flavours of cherry, dark chocolate and bouquet garni. This luscious wine saturates the palate and fills the mouth with fine chalky tannins and a burst of purple fruit before a crescendo of cranberry juice acidy, keeping the wine fresh and vibrant.

Clos de Gamot Cahors Le Gamotin red

Flight of the Condor Malbec

The fruit for this impressive malbec is picked from young vines grown at altitude in Mendoza. The altitude contributes to the vitality of this generously flavoured red. There is good integration of oak whilst the wine remains focused on a fresh fruit profile on the palate, and is complemented stylishly by violet aromatics.

Cabernet Malbec

Tasting: This is a classy Cabernet blend. Teeming with vibrant blackberries, cassis, violets and dark plum. Cedary oak and hints of spice well integrated with the fruit. Dark fruited, vibrant, classy, yet highly approachable. Incredibly silky and seductive tannins, with subtle mocha notes. Winemaking: Premium Margaret River Cabernet fermented in open-tops and hand-plunged twice each day.The aim of this wine was to promote the juicy fruit flavours of cabernet so we added in a small portion of Blackwood Valley Malbec to help with that.18 months aging in French Barriques before the blend was formulated.Filtered and bottled on-site.

Bodega Catena Zapata Catena Malbec

The Catena wines are a special assemblage of High Mountain Estate Vineyards made by fourth generation vintner, Laura Catena and chief winemaker, Alejandro Vigil. Although we have found that most of the Catena wines are consumed shortly after release, we are pleased to see that they age beautifully for ten to twenty years. Through decades of study and exploration within Mendoza's high altitude mountain terroirs, the Catena family has identified special locations for its Estate vineyards. From the marriage of these historic vineyards emerges a wine of unique character that has natural balance, concentration and a distinct varietal identity. In 1898, Nicola Catena left his homeland of Italy, and sailed for the land of plenty and opportunity: Argentina. It wasn't long before Nicola planted his first Malbec vineyard in Mendoza in 1902. Although traditionally used as a blending grape in Bordeaux, Nicola believed in the potential of Malbec as a single varietal wine, and suspected that it might uncover its hidden splendour in the cooler climes of the Andes. Flash forward a few decades, to where Nicola's grandson, Nicolas Catena Zapata, has taken over the management of the business. He sold off the bulk producing parts of the company, focusing instead on producing premium Mlabec and Cabernet. To that end, he began searching for the best sites in Mendoza to plant. In 1992, he settled on Gualtallary Alto - the highest and moste Western part of Tupungato. Today, the wines of Bodega Catena Zapata are sourced from six historic estate vineyards: Angélica, La Pirámide, Nicasia, Domingo, Adrianna and Angélica Sur.

Château Bourdieu N°1 Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux

Ripe plum, dark cherry, blackcurrant, tart raspberry. That fruit is wrapped in a savoury pouch of leather, cedar, capsicum, blackcurrant leaf, and dried tobacco.

Moss Wood Amy's

Moss Wood Amy's is a bold blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes. Deep brick-red coloured, the wine looks bright when poured into a glass. Its nose gives off lifted aromas of mulberries and blackcurrants. These dark fruit scents are followed by white pepper, complex cedar & tarry notes, coupled with musky perfumes. The palate is dominated by juicy blackberry and red currant flavours that are accompanied by well-balanced acidity and firm tannins. This impressively structured wine pairs best with beef and venison dishes.
