Yoichi Single Malt is a range of single malt expressions from the Yoichi Distillery, Nikka's first distillery built in 1934. The founder Masataka Taketsuru chose the town of Yoichi in Hokkaido because of the similar environmental conditions to Scotland, where he learned whisky-making. Yoichi malts are described as bold and strong with refined peaty notes and smokiness brought by the traditional direct coal-fired distillation. Sea breeze from the Ishikari Bay delivers a briny hint to the whisky during maturation. Nikka Yoichi 12 Year Old Single Malt has been produced from a strict selection amongst the malts. It was distilled and matured for at least 12 years at the Yoichi Distillery. It is characterized by the aromas of aged casks, a mellow well-rounded palate, and a bold, powerful taste.

It offers a delicate balance of bright fruitiness and rich mouthfeel, along with its distinctive smokiness generated by coal-fired distillation.

He aimed to make a complete contrast between the two distilleries, Miyagikyo and Yoichi, with different natural environments and production methods. Miyagikyo malts are described as elegant and fruity. Made from light peated and non-peated malted barley, whiskies distilled in pot stills heated by indirect steam express a signature fruitiness and delicate mouthfeel. This limited edition of Miyagikyo single malt was introduced in 2021 as the first of the “Nikka Discovery” series. Bruichladdich Octomore 12.2 Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Octomore seems to be getting a second wind of popularity - not that it was ever unpopular. Added to that is a sense of scarcity with allocations becoming smaller every year. 12.2 is no exception. The .2s in the series are known to showcase the impact of different wine barrels on the heavily peated Islay whisky. Distilled in the winter of 2015 from 100% Scottish grown Concerto barley, 12.2 weighs in at 129.7ppm and was matured in ex-Bourbon barrels, followed by 18 months in rare first-fill Sauternes casks. Knowing how well 'sweet & peat' can work, it's destined to be one of the more desirable editions to date. Bottled at cask strength, expect something sweet-ish with a salty edge, lots of earthy peat, sweet bonfire smoke plus hints of maritime complexity. 57.3% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered. Mars Distillery Komagatake Voyager Estate Wine Finish Single Malt Japanese Whisky ( Release)

This is Mars Komagatake Single Malt ‘Wine Cask Finish’ was produced in collaboration with Voyager Estate from the famous Margaret River region located in Western Australia. Only 924 bottles have been produced. This is the 2nd collaboration and this special whisky is sold only in Australia and Japan. This Single Malt was distilled at Mars Shinshu Distillery in 2016 in Nagano Prefecture and matured in a bourbon barrel for more than 3 years. It was then aged for another 15 months in French Troncais oak. This oak cask was previously used to age Voyager Estate’s flagship red wine, their ‘MJW’ Cabernet Sauvignon, and was sent to Japan in early 2020 once the wine came out of the cask. This special whisky shows the harmony between the world of whisky and wine. The attractive pale red rose colour is evidenced from red wine cask, fruity notes on the aroma with grapes, berry, pomegranate. Elegant smooth mouthfeel with grape fruit character. The finish is long, viscous umami, and well balanced with sweetness.

White Oak Akashi 5 Year Old White Wine Single Malt Japanese Whisky

This Single Malt from Akashi was aged 4 and a half years in cognac barrels followed by a further 10 month maturation white wine barrels from the Akashi vineyard located in Yamanashi county in Japan. The resulting whisky has floral and white fruit notes. No colouring or cold filtration. Located in the city of Akashi in the Hyogo Prefecture, by the seaside of the Seto Island Sea is the White Oak Distillery. This distillery was founded in 1888 by Eigashima Shuzo and has been producing Sake and Shochu every since. In 1919, Eigashima Shuzo obtained a license to manufacture whisky and when the company moved to their current facilities in 1984, the White Oak Distillery was born.

White Oak Akashi 5 Year Old Red Wine Single Malt Japanese Whisky

For this limited release, White Oak has produced this Akashi 5 Year Old Single Malt aged in Cognac barrels for four and a half years before being finally refined in casks of red wine. The Japanese Single Malt was then bottled without cold filtration and without colouring. The resulting whisky is rich and refined style with fruity, tannic and woody notes.
