A painstaking exploration of small vineyards across Barossa for sites that best display varietal characters akin to those of our legendary estate wines uncovered The Heidenreich vineyard at Light Pass, planted in the late 1930s. The vineyard produces consistently excellent Cabernet Sauvignon with layers of black fruit, leafy overtones and tobacco notes. As is the Greenock Creek tradition, this wine will reward patience and cellaring, while being deliciously approachable as a young wine.

The Leogate Estate tradition of bringing grapes into the winery from districts external to the Hunter Valley has continued in 2021 for the winemaking of the “Gatecrasher” series. This Cabernet Sauvignon was made from grapes grown on an isolated parcel from a smaller block on our certified organic vineyard located in the Central Ranges NSW. These magnificent vines were planted together in pairs, and the trunks trained over each other along the wire so producing fewer but richer bunches

The Castiglioni estate has been a defining symbol of the Frescobaldi family's wine-growing tradition since 1300. Tenuta Castiglioni has a beautiful, bright ruby-red colour with tinges of purple. The bouquet offers intense aromas of blackberries and blackcurrants blending together with notes of pepper, cloves and subtle hints of liquorice. The attack is smooth and enveloping, with a touch of acidity that gives it a wonderful freshness and a long, persistent and spicy finish.
