A deep crimson red which opens with the classical Margaret River nose...fresh varietal notes of bright berried fruits, briar and sea spray, followed by wafts of chocolate and mocha with subtle spiced oak aromas. A medium to full bodied palate shows cassis and Satsuma plum characteristics, leading into the sweet mid-palate depth of chocolate and mocha, finishing with defined talents. The wine is elegant and shows great length of flavour and well-structured palate line. 'Pure and fragrant, expect a nose layered with cassis, blackcurrant, leaf and dusty spice rack spices, while in your mouth it's pure, beautifully structured, fine and dry. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are sourced from several select vineyard sites located in the Wilyabrup sub region and north to Wildwood Rd in an endeavour to capture ripe fruit flavours, supple tannins and the distinctive perfume of Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon. A deep and inviting black cherry colour with floral notes of violets and fruity, doughy aromas of just baked blackberry muffins. The palate is soft, inviting, and full of free range forest fruits, vanilla, cocoa and loads of supple, fine tannin. Such a pleasure to drink now but with ample ripe tannin structure to allow for aging up to 5 years.

This medium bodied and elegant wine is a blend of predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon enhanced with a small percentage of classic varietals. Following fermentation and extended maceration, the wine has been matured in new and old French oak barriques, producing a complex blend of Margaret River fruit characters including cassis, eucalypt, capsicum, mulberry and plum with secondary notes of chocolate and cedar. 93/100 James Halliday Wine Companion 2016.

Powerful black fruited aromas of fresh blackberry, roasted tomato and blackcurrant with layers of dried sage, damp earth and graphite. The oak adds a creamy and almond meal texture to the powerful blackberry, dark cherry and fruit on the palate. The succulence typical of the Morgans site is extended and balanced by layers of fine tannin, building into a persistent pencilly/graphite textured finish. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot Handpicked and de-stemmed to small open-top fermenters, we let the ferments go wild. Hand-plunging often and vigourously we press ferments off skins when the tannins are melting in your mouth, about 5 weeks after ferment starts. The Search has begun, and our grape balloon manned by Snake (our winemaker) and Herring (our navigator) represent this.The southwest of WA is a viticultural treasure map as there are vineyard jewels scattered throughout. We seek for blocks within vineyards that really shine; they may seem dull when diluted by the bordering lesser dirt. The search is to find and polish these often overlooked gems and present a treasure chest of different jewels: pristine, crystalline Rieslings; crisp, radiant, multi-faceted Chardonnays; alluring, perfumed Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon; dark, exotic, hedonistic Shiraz; brilliant, regal displays of Cabernets and blends.

A lovely example of Margaret River Cabernet Merlot, Flametree Cabernet Merlot is showing big dense fruit characters of blackcurrant and stewed plums. A silky seamless palate with rich fruit concentration and chocolaty complexity. Matured in French oak barrels has softened and rounded this wine.
