Goat cheese and crab salad are perfect food pairings for this wine.

Clos Clare Riesling

Grosset Alea Off Dry Riesling

This is a single site Riesling from the gently north-facing slopes of the Estate"s second vineyard at Watervale. It has subdued, lavender, fresh herb aromas, lemon blossom while the palate is soft, round and smoothed out by a touch of sweetness that is deep and lingering, before being grasped by a clenched fist of acidity, pulling it tight and tingly. The finish is taut, ultra-crisp with a whisper of sweetness before the zesty dry grip takes over. Enjoy now or cellar up to 10 years.

Sevenhill Cellars Estate Grown Inigo Clare Valley Riesling

The roots of Sevenhill Cellars go all the way back to the 16th century when a young Spanish courtier called Inigo swapped a life of violence for one dedicated to helping others and co-founded the religious order we know today as the Jesuits. He mistakenly thought the Latin translation of his name was Ignatius and hundreds of years later, the more well-known St Ignatius has stuck fast. Fast forward to Adelaide in 1848, where Jesuit priests struck out North with a group of over 100 German and Silesian migrants. Amid the beautiful rolling hills of the Clare Valley is where they decided to settle and, after purchasing 100 acres of land in 1849, the young priest named the property Sevenhill in honour of the seven hills of Rome. This Riesling enjoys a bright aroma of lime, citrus, mineral and orange blossom. The palate is finely structured with gentle citrus and nectarine fruit flavours, crisp acidity and a clean balanced finish.

As a young wine the 2017 Jim Barry Watervale Riesling won gold at two prestigious wine shows - Sydney and Adelaide. So popping a quality riesling into our cellaring prgramme didn't take much thinking about. After 5 years we have the pay-off. The wine still remains vivacious but is now filling out and displaying toasty, lemon butter notes, and a lime blossom nose. Other distinguishing features are the clarity of crystalline flavour and the softness of the acidity. Along the way there's a gentle phenolic note that adds textural interest. Drink now and over the next 2 years.

O'Leary Walker Doctor's Cut Reserve Riesling

Pale straw in colour with a green tinge. Honey suckle, white florals, bath salts, musk and fennel. Pure and intense. Abundant mineral notes, floral freshness, zesty lemon and lime. O'Leary Walker Wines was established in 2000 by winemakers David O'Leary and Nick Walker. With over twenty five years experience and established reputations making premium wine with the big companies, these two long time friends decided to take control of their own destiny and craft small batches of wine from some of the best vineyard sites in South Australia. With a great leap of faith they are now doing exactly what they set out to. Based in Leasingham in the Clare Valley, the duo source fruit from all over South Australia (including the Barossa, Adelaide Hills, Coonawarra and McLaren Vale) but some of the best fruit comes from the Clare Valley itself. Of particular note is the Grace's vineyard in Watervale which supplies Riesling for the lauded 'Watervale Riesling' label. Grace's is a dry grown, west facing vineyard that sits on the classic 'red loam over limestone' Watervale soils and produces wonderful Riesling fruit. Similarly, the Smith and Molloy vineyards in the Polish Hill River area also contribute wonderfully intense Riesling fruit of the highest order. The O'Leary Walker range focuses on some premium regional varietals, taking the best bits from all around South Australia. The theory behind this is to draw on the grape varieties that excel in these quite different viticultural climates.
