Penfolds RWT Shiraz is a big juicy Barossan Shiraz refined by the use of older French oak barrels. 1998 is considered to be one of the classic vintages of the modern age. Drinking wonderfully now but with many years still to come in its development, this is a great addition to any cellar.

The 2016 Meister was rated 99 points / Best of the Best Shiraz by James Halliday in the 2020 Wine Companion and showcases the pinnacle of what can be done in the Eden Valley with this variety. The utterly sublime and exhilarating Langi Shiraz is typified by ethereal blackberry/ brambly/ dark cherry/ pepper/ violet aromas and flavours, supple textures, mid-palate buoyancy and underlying savoury oak. The grapes come from the "Langi Shiraz" block planted with "Swiss Clone material originally sourced from nearby Best's Concongella Vineyard. The granitic soils and cold south-westerlies are influential in producing its distinctive flavour profile. Meticulous attention to detail are behind the winemaking. After a cold soak the fruit (some whole bunch) is open-fermented with regular hand plunging. Some components complete fermentation in barrel. The wine is aged for around 14 months in new (45%) and seasoned French oak.

One of the benchmarks of Barossa Shiraz, Peter Lehmann's Stonewell is a classic example of the rich concentrated old vine style. While bold on the palate, there is always an inherent complexity to the Stonewell that enables it to be compared with all of the great Australian wines produced today.

This is a magnificent wine & flagship of the Thomson family. It has a fragrant bouquet of spice, pepper and black cherry which flows through to a glorious silken and supple palate of red and black cherry and plum. The tannin and oak are perfectly intergrated.Limited Stock

Henschke Mount Edelstone is one of the most important single vineyard sites in Australia. The 90 year old vines has been producing a single vineyard Shiraz since 1952 and is one of Australia's truly great wines. The nose has sweet ripe plum and blueberry aromas and the palate is intense and deeply flavoured. While enjoyable upon release, this is a wine that will enjoy a decade or more in the cellar.
