Domaine Paul Jaboulet Hermitage La Chapelle
Guigal Côte Rôtie Brune et Blonde de Guigal
M Chapoutier Le Pavillon Ermitage
Chapoutier Le Pavillon Ermitage should be considered the perfect Hermitage wine. Reminiscent of the 1991, the 2006 Le Pavillon has a wonderful opaque colour of dark purple with a brilliant nose of smoky oak, cassis and truffle. In the mouth the wine truly sings with remarkable flavours of licorice, blackberry and intense dark cherry. The tannin precision and length of acid are truly exceptional and will help this behemoth of a wine cellar up until the 2040s!
Guigal Crozes Hermitage Rouge
Rich in red fruits, cherry and strawberry with delicate oak aromas on the nose. A structured tannic wine. Aromas of blackcurrant buds and vanilla. Remarkable freshness with notable and refined tannins to due long oak ageing. Crozes-Hermitage can be considered the gateway to the red and white wines of the Northern Rhône Valley. The reds, which are the majority of production, have wonderful warm flavors of red and black fruit, and typical Syrah (Shiraz) pepper, spice and savoury notes. They are more approachable than their highly revered cousins in Côte-Rotie and Hermitage, with an appealing freshness that makes them drinkable early in life.
Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage La Chapelle
Warm, complex, earthy spice tones with a lovely richness. Powerful yet elegant and ageing beautifully.
Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas
'The Cornas of the vintage is Clapes 2012 Cornas. An incredible effort, its inky purple/black colour is followed by spectacular aromas and flavours of black raspberry, graphite, beef blood, iron, cedar and white pepper (among other things). This is Cornas at its finest, with insane aromatics, full-bodied richness and massive concentration, yet at the same time staying elegant, seamless and gorgeously pure. Its more approachable than the 2010, but should still need 3-4 years of cellaring and have two decades of longevity. - 98 Points |Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. VDP 'Les Corendies' Syrah
Les Trois Clefs Chateauneuf du Pape
Les Trois Clefs (The Three Keys) is the emblem of the historic city of Avignon, capital of the Cotes du Rhone wine region. Chateauneuf du Pape is a superior Grenache Syrah that delivers all the juicy red fruits, power and complexity the region is famuos for. Lovely dark forest fruits with a hint of spice, the finish is long and smooth. Enjoy with Cassoulet or Grillades de Boeuf!
M Chapoutier Crozes-Hermitage
The Chapoutier Estate has been present in the Rhone Valley since 1808, always on a quest to find different tastes and expressions of terrior, or sense of place. Some regard the wines of Hermitage as the greatest Shiraz wines in the world, and thus they can be some of the most expensive. Crozes-Hermitage, however, are the vineyards that surround Hermitage, but without the price tag!
Guigal Hermitage
One of the powerhouses of the Rhône and a name synonymous with beautifully crafted wines from some of the regions finest vineyard sites. Deep ruby red in colour with violet tinges. Spices, red berries and delicate oak aromas. A powerful and tannic Shiraz. Aromas of blackcurrant buds and vanilla, liquorice and spicy finish. A racy and seductive wine by Guigal, perfect for putting down.
