Rockford Wines is a renowned wine producer located in the iconic Barossa Valley of Australia. Established in the early 1980s by Robert O'Callaghan, it has gained recognition as one of the most distinguished wineries in Australia, producing premium Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon wines. O'Callaghan commenced his career as a trainee winemaker in 1965 at Seppelt in Rutherglen, Victoria. In 1971, he relocated to the Barossa and acquired two hectares (five acres) of land beneath the Barossa ranges, where he planted vines and built a winery in the style of the 1850s stone cottage. 2018 Blue Rock Wines, Eden Valley Pinot Grigio Pinot Grigio is a wine style that comes from Italy. The Pinot Gris grapes are picked at a slightly earlier stage of development thus having higher acidity and lower sugar levels. The resultant wine is lower in alcohol and has a crisp acid finish. The aromas of citrus and pear indulge the nose. The palate has lovely nashi pear and lemongrass flavours. The zingy acidity makes this wine linger in the mouth and leaves you wanting more. Cat Amongst the Pidgeons Chardonnay is a beauty from the Barossa Valley. It's got great balance, with its tropical stone fruit flavours and subtle oak flavours. With a nice fresh finish, there's a lot to enjoy.

Light yellow, youthful looking. Lovely complex nose, superbly harmonised fruit, oak and other inputs. Rich but fine palate; tidy and tight, delicate yet rich and concentrated. Impressive wine. If anything it errs on the pristine, squeaky-clean side. Very good length and balance. Power and finesse.
