2019 Blue Rock Wines Reserve Eden Valley ChardonnayThe fruit for this wine comes from our cool climate Eden Valley vineyard. It was harvested at optimum ripeness and fermented at low temperatures to retain the varietal characteristics. It displays the clean and lifted varietal nose of guava and lemongrass followed by a crisp palate of green apples, stone fruit and rockmelon. A small portion (25%) of this wine completed its fermentation in oak barrels. This has imparted some nutty and honeyed characters to the wine. Well suited to most seafood dishes.

Sourced from the finest vineyards of the renowned Barossa region and using traditional winemaking techniques, our wine is a classic representation of the region to be perfectly paired with all your favourite cuts of meats and fish. These low cropping Chardonnay grapes were grown in the Barossa Valley wine region of South Australia, which has an ideal climate for Chardonnay. This unwooded wine has subtle tropical fruit flavours, that provide a soft mouth fill, with a vibrant finish. Ideal to enjoy with white meats and seafood.

Tasting Notes Aromas of citrus, pear and white peach lead to enticing stone fruit and fig flavours on the palate. Crisp acidity, complex layering with a hint of nougat and vanilla culminate in a long seamless finish. Winemaking Hand-picked from select rows in our high altitude Eden Valley vineyard. The grapes are whole bunch basket-pressed, before the juice is run to barrel for fermentation. Wild and inoculated fermentation is encouraged. Regular lees stirring and 8 month’s maturation in new and seasoned French oak barriques gives the wine beautiful texture and complexity. Vineyard Soil Type: Deep clay loam contrast sandy loam soils on dark brown subsoil.

Mid straw colour. Lifted white peach and nectarine aromatics with flinty notes. Full and intense white stone fruit with grilled cashew notes and generous mid palate. Integrated oak with mouthwatering acid line.

A pale lemon wine with a lifted floral and stone fruit nose. The palate carries through these fruit forward characers and adds layers of buttered toast and biscuit. It is a wie that is textured , full, yet crisp, with a lingering citrus peel finish.

This parcel was selected by winemaker Nick Badrice for its exceptional quality. Subtle French oak lifts natural stone fruit aromas, with melon notes balances by crisp acidity to give structure and a lengthy finish.
