High up in the Adelaide Hills, Paracombe is owned and operated by the Drogemuller family, which it has passionately done since 1983. Sourced from both estate and selected grower fruit, Paracombe Shiraz shows wonderful ripe fruit aromas with a delicate cool-climate aspect. Notes of cherries, plums, pepper and spice are notable along with a palate of layered spicy fruit and a fine tannin structure.

If we’re honest, there’s not a single reason that we don’t love Sidewood. They’re far from being one-trick ponies (although everyone can find a favourite in their range). Whether it be sensational sparkling, succulent sauvignon blanc, perfect pinot noir, or shining chardonnay. This time, the spotlight is on the shiraz. Selected fruit, estate crafted, 100% french oak treatment through fermentation and 15 months maturation, before final barrel selection is undergone. No stone left unturned, no drop of wine slips by without quality assured. To simply say this overdelivers doesn’t do it justice: this excels in its own category and ones above.

Fruit for this cool climate Shiraz was selected from a diverse range of vineyards across the Adelaide Hills. It is deep red in colour with bright purple hues, this wine exhibits lifted and intense aromatics, with ripe and spicy dark fruit characters of blackberry and black plum mixed with a touch of pepper and vanilla bean. A full bodied, elegant wine it shows a balanced acidity and silky tannins culminating in a long finish on the palate.

He grew up in the vineyards of South Australia – and simply knows everybody in the business. Winemaking royalty Matt Koch and Andrea Maxwell make up the other two thirds of this incredibly talented team. Made from a single site on the Southern Range in the Adelaide Hills, the exceptional 96pt Loom Long Yarn Shiraz certainly impressed the judges at the Royal Queensland Wine Awards where it took home a Top Gold. Seductive aromatics of dark fruits with a palate that knocks you back with a flex of crunchy acidity and tight tannins that linger. A great partner to fresh organic tomato-based dishes.

Rich and flavoursome the 2018 Cutlass Single Vineyard Shiraz shows thick cuts of red berry and juicy dark plum with some whole bunch derived perfume and spice.The palate is long and persistent with complex fruit flavours overlaid with fresh toasty French Oak.

A lovely medium bodied Shiraz that exemplifies cool climate elegance. A nose of crushed dry herbs such as sage and rosemary with dark plum fruit underlying. The palate continues the flavour of fresh plums with fine drying tannins that evoke dark cocoa powder. A Shiraz for any occasion all year round!
