Winter + Wine = Great Combination
For those of you not adverse to the crisp winter air on your face, we thought we’d seek out some ideas to get you out of the house, enjoying the beauty that is winter, alongside one of our favourite things — wine tastings!
Winter heralds in the long weekends of wine festivals. And if you haven’t got anything planned, why not take a look at the following two ideas, which run over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend of 10-12 June, 2017…
Winter Wine Weekend on the Mornington Peninsula
The Winter Wine Weekend kicks off at the Red Hill Showground, which hosts an exhibition and wine tasting all in the one area. You can taste more than 200 premium wines from 47 wineries on this day. It’s a ticketed event, organized by the Mornington Peninsula Vignerons Association. Good luck with drinking 200 wines on that day. We’d like to know if it’s possible.
But in case you can’t handle drinking 200 wines in one day, then there are a number of cellar door events and activities that weekend. So, if you have a favourite winery in the region, or want to try something new, this is a great occasion.
For those who can’t get down to the region, but are still interested in trying some of the wines from the Mornington Peninsula, take a look at the following best deals from wineries in the region:
- Dromana Estate
- Paringa Estate
- Port Phillip Estate
- Quealy Winemakers
- Red Hill Estate
- Stonier Wines
- Ten Minutes by Tractor
- Willow Creek Vineyard
- Yabby Lake Vineyard
